Suryakumar Yadav is set to captain India in the upcoming three-match T20I series against South Africa, kicking off on December 10. Following the T20Is, the team will engage in three ODIs and two Tests, scheduled in Centurion (starting from December 26) and Cape Town (beginning January 3). KL Rahul will take on the captaincy role for the ODI squad.

Notably, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have opted for a break from the white-ball series, per their request to the board. The participation of fast bowler Mohammed Shami is contingent on his fitness, and he is currently undergoing medical treatment.
