Both stalwarts arrived in Dubai for the auction with their respective franchises. Rishabh Pant was also seen during the auction in the auction hall, placing bids for players while sitting at the Delhi Capitals' table. However, MS Dhoni was not spotted in the auction hall.

Though Rishabh Pant may be away from the cricket field, he played a crucial role in Delhi Capitals' auction strategy. He remained present in every franchise meeting and planning session. Consequently, the franchise had asked him to be present during the auction as well. In this auction, Delhi Capitals made the biggest bid for Indian uncapped cricketer Kumar Kushagra at 7.20 crores. The franchise also successfully acquired Jay Richardson (5 crores) and Harry Brook (4 crores) for their squad.

also strengthened its squad by acquiring Rachin Ravindra for a mere 1.80
crores.
